How we do it

Innovation for banks, modern payment experiences for businesses

Extend is the first out-of-the-box virtual card issuing platform and spend management software that a bank can readily offer to its customers. Supporting card programs across Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, our goal is to bring the innovative experiences of modern card offerings to corporate credit cards everywhere.

Why we do it

Payments are evolving; we’re here to help everyone evolve with them.

We believe in a world where people are empowered to achieve more with the tools they already have and the partners they already trust. As advancements in financial technology create new solutions to old problems, our mission is to make these innovations accessible to everyone, setting a new standard for card services across the industry.

History & mission

If legacy systems could talk, we wouldn’t be here.

Immersed in the world of B2B payments and product development at American Express, Extend’s founders were well aware of the challenges businesses face when it came to card payments and how to manage them.

Amid the onset of the changing, increasingly competitive payments landscape, they noticed the growing disparity between enterprise software and small- and mid-size business solutions, between modern consumer payment experiences and dated business practices, and between the evolving expectations of today’s customers and the technology capable of meeting them. Extend’s founders saw these gaps as symptoms of a larger need for innovation within the industry and set out to solve the bigger problem: disparate payment infrastructure.

Becoming a trusted partner.

By connecting legacy systems between payment processors, card networks, and issuing banks, Extend has modernized payment infrastructure beyond its own software solution for businesses, quite literally extending access to payment rails for the entire industry. Now, businesses benefit from flexible card-issuing, banks can meet customer demands, and software providers, like SAP Concur, can leverage Extend to embed payments directly into customer experiences.

This radical innovation without a rip-and-replace transformation means that, with Extend, everybody can achieve more from the cards, the products, and the financial technology they already have.
